Stockbox Holdings AB became the new principal owner through its wholly-owned subsidiary Strongbox AB. At this point, Stockbox Holdings possessed 17.0% of shares and 45.1% of votes. At the same time the life insurance company Nova (nowadays Mandatum Life Insurance Company Ltd) also increased its ownership in Norvestia.

The name Norvestia was registered August 1, 1996. At this point the new focus of investment activities was directed at small and medium-size Nordic companies. Today the main focus of Norvestia's investment activities is on Nordic shares and funds. In 1996 when the company changed its name to Norvestia, its net asset value stood at 79.0 million euros.
